Remedy of Constipation

Constipation refers to bowel movements that are infrequent or hard to pass. Constipation is a common cause of painful defecation. Although constipation is often looked upon as a common problem, if not treated or if treatment is delayed, it can lead to further problems such as fissures, fistulas, piles, lack of appetite and indigestion.

Start Loving Water: Drink at least 3 liters of water every day. This is the most common tip, highly recommended and always effective. Your body must get enough water.


Add Fibre to your Diet: Most of the doctors and specialists feel that constipation happens due to lack of fibre. So, adopt a healthy diet which includes lots of fruits, grains and leafy vegetables and a lot of fluids. Fibers will help steady bowel movements. 


Try these Home Remedies: Following home remedies helps release constipation:

  • Triphala powder is a great lexative that helps regulate digestion and bowel movements without any side effects. It takes care of internal organs of our body like a mother takes care of her child. Take one tea spoon with warm water before going to bed. It is one of the best natural remedy for constipation.
  • Take fresh ripe (red) tomato juice in the evening. Do not remove the skin of tomato as it is rich in fiber. Follow it for 21 days, you will be free from constipation naturally. You should take 2-3 medium sized tomatoes.See Video
  • Raisins are full of fiber. Soak a handful in water overnight and have them first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
  • Take a warm glass of water, add lemon juice and salt and take as first thing in the morning.
  • Switch to Purnes and Purne Juice
  • Drink a glass of lukewarm water with 1-2 teaspoons of honey in it 3-4 times a day.
  • Have 1-2 oranges before going to bed and the same after getting up. They will stimulate your bowels for sure.
  • An apple or banana each day is helpful.
  • Try Aloe vera juice with pulp for a quick remedy. Aloe vera relaxes the muscles of your digestive track and colon so that the faces can pass through easily.
Avoid These Foods:  Avoid refined foods like white flour, bread, pasta, pizza, white rice, etc. Further, high -protein foods like cheese, red meat, and soybeans can cause constipation, so these either should be avoided or must be taken with a bowl of salad and lots of liquids. Avoid Meat. 

Increase Physical Activity: Start walking or try simple exercise regime like jogging, skipping, cycling and swimming. The best thing to do is to take a long walk everyday which could help get things moving along. 


Remove Stress and Depression: Just relax and avoid engaging in stressful activities and anything which spurs tension and worry. Stress is the root cause of all diseases. All such mental conditions affect our daily lives and our eating habits leading to irregular bowel movements.
